Slightly darker than pilsner malt, but not toasted as much as Munich malt, this grain will impart a dry, slightly toasted flavour. Use in small quantities in pale ales, up to a pound in Marzenbiers. Vienna style lagers derive most of their colour and flavour from this malt.

Possible Substitution(s): Munich, Pilsner, 2 Row

Recommended Maximum Usage: Up to 100% in German Lagers, 1-2 Pounds to add complexity and maltiness to pale ales.
